PIPE, TUPENTINE AND FUGUE |selection|since 2021

In Pipe, Turpentine and Fugue Silvia Y. Tam addresses the cycle of found and lost identity in the interplay of remembering and forgetting based on the experiences of four generations of her family, torn between Europe and Asia. To this end she creates a dialogue between the historical artefacts she uncovered among her family’s scattered belongings, paintings and handwritten texts by members of her family and her own photographic documentation and sound installation.
